Our story

Hi, I'm Carol

I'm the founder of Simply For Me Bible, and I was its very first customer. Everything you'll find here grew out of my own struggle to sit down and open the Bible.

For a long time I wanted to feel close to God. I wanted His wisdom for the decisions in front of me, His direction when I couldn't see the next step, the steadiness of His voice in an ordinary day. What I couldn't do was open my Bible. And when I finally did, it felt like one more box to check. I'd read a chapter, close the cover, and walk away holding nothing.

So I put it off. I'd tell myself I would read once I cleared a few emails, folded the laundry, or crossed one more thing off my list. There was always a productive task to hide behind, and each one let me feel useful enough to quiet the guilt for another day. I stayed stuck for the same reasons any of us avoid the things that matter most: it felt big and open-ended, I didn't know where to begin, and a part of me was afraid I would do it wrong. I kept choosing the task I knew how to finish over the one I most needed.

A friend pointed me to Proverbs, the Bible's book of wisdom, and for the first time I had a place to begin. But I'm someone who needs the right setting before I start anything, and a little company while it's still new. So I stopped waiting for the version of me who would show up perfectly, and I built the thing I needed: a gentle guide through Scripture, written to my own life, that met me right where I was.

Something shifted. The Word stopped feeling like an assignment and started sounding like it was speaking to me. As I told people my story, I saw how many of them carried the same quiet ache to connect and didn't know where to start. That is why Simply For Me Bible exists: to meet you where you are today, and walk with you toward the God who has been waiting to meet you all along.

What we believe

Faith for the kitchen and the front door

The book I made for myself had to pass one test: does this meet a person where they are, or does it hand them another thing to get through? Every book we write still has to pass it.

Written for one person

Yours starts with your life, your season, and the people you name. You choose the book, the tone of the devotionals from gentle and tender to direct and challenging, your Bible translation, and worship song codes for Spotify or Apple Music. Your name goes on the cover.

Grace before effort

You won't do this perfectly, and you don't need to. The pace is slow on purpose. Better to sit with one verse than rush all thirty-one days.

Something you can carry

Every reading ends with one small step you can take into your real day. Faith you can live, not just read.
